Biography

Born: April 9th, 1991

From: Omaha, Nebraska

I first got involved in choir and singing in 5th grade and I eventually started taking piano lessons from Dr. Momoro Ono at about the age of 12 and studied with him for a year and a half. I remained largely self-taught afterwards. I focused more on singing transitioning into high school and, after a bit of a slow start, I became heavily involved in choir, theatre, and jazz band.

I obtained a Bachelor of Arts - Music Degree in 2015 from Northwest Missouri State University. I studied voice with Dr. Brian Lanier, piano with Dr. Anthony Olson, sang in all the vocal ensembles (Tower Choir, Madraliers/Celebration Show Choir, University Chorale), and played piano with the university’s Jazz Ensemble and Wind Symphony. In 2017, I obtained a Master's Degree in Vocal Coaching from Oklahoma City University and has returned for a second Master's Degree in Opera Performance in 2018. I have been involved with OCU's Jazz Ensemble, was Music Director of OPERAtions, Music Director for a male a capella group "Ahhx Chords", and Assistant Vocal Coach for some of the university's productions. I studied piano with Jan McDaniel and currently study voice with Dr. Catherine McDaniel and coach with Jan McDaniel.

Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything. - Plato

Reviews

Canterbury Voices: Handel's Messiah

"Jordan Andrews sang the bass arias with great confidence and power. His voice is young and strong, reaching depths of expression that match the sonorous melodies of the bass."

Liberty Theatre: Beauty and the Beast

"... his voice is masterful, one no one ever forgets, and his singing as Beast left most with tears and a loud applause from all. His acting is as exquisite as his singing and his portrayal as the Beast was superb, both in the Beast's temper tantrums and his lovestruck actions for Belle."

- Megan McAdams, Atchinson County Mail (June 12th, 2018)

Painted Sky Opera: Il barbiere di Siviglia

"Jordan Andrews has a great voice and wonderful demeanor as Fiorello.  As the servant of Almaviva, he may be the only servant with any degree of honor and loyalty as he works to arrange things for the Count.  Andrews listens to the others, listens to the ensemble as well as responding with vocal clarity."
